Dunkin Donuts breakfast makes the morning so much better! My belly is full(ish) and my fingers are ready to create new goodies! I'm just about done listing the glass pendants in my shop. I started making 20 and have listed them slowly, but I'm down to about 5 left and then I'll just have to create new ones!

I've been writing down/drawing ideas every second of the day they come to me and so far I've filled two pages front and back of new projects I want to work on for the shop. School has about 3 weeks left and then I'll be free to create as much as I can handle! I'm thoroughly looking forward to it!

I'll TRY to post back more often than I have been... it's so difficult to manage all the time I spend with school, Etsy, my job, 'etc. But I'll try!

Hi all! Hope everyone reading this is doing well...I'm writing this still in my PJs at 3:21pm and loving it. I love Saturday for that simple fact alone--that being in your PJs this late is acceptable. Well, I made it through this past week, which at some point I wasn't sure I was going to do actually. Lots of things have been crazy for me with school/work and making it through last week was a hurdle I needed to get over--and did! I have two mid-terms this week and an exam on Friday, but I think I can stand it!

I went to my first Devils home game on Tuesday. I can't even explain how much fun that was... To see all my favorite hockey players just feet away from me was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Nate was able to come up and go with me, so that made it extra special!

Still have my Easter sale going on in the shop...I've gotten a few sales from it... about 10 or so, but definitely pushing for more! Oh how I wish I had the sales I had back in November/December. I LOVE holiday shoppers.

I'm thinking of ways to advertise more, so if you have any you'd like to share, please do. I'm always willing to do promo swaps, so if that is your thing, please leave a comment here or on Etsy so we can exchange info.

It has been a LONG time....OOPS!

I can't believe it has been over a year since I've posted here... I guess I got carried away with all that's happened. So, to catch you all up, here is what the last year has looked like:

I'm in my Senior year of college...!
I made my 500th sale goal in December 2009 (goal was Dec. 31st)
Ended the year with close to 650 sales (150 over goal!!)
I made my 800th sale goal March 12th 2010 (goal was March 31st)
Completed my first craft show (made $200 in about 5 hours!!)

and various other things that I can't remember at the moment. I'd like to start getting this blog updated on a semi regular basis again. We'll see though... ;)

It's been a little while since I've updated. Lots of personal stuff has happened in my life, but not much on the etsy front--EXCEPT! I've met the greatest girls on there, ever. You heavy frame lovers know who you are.

New year, new outlook

So people's suggestion on here have been, be yourself, be yourself, be yourself. I suppose I could only talk about etsy and keep my personal life out of it completely, but that wouldn't really be following the rules of being myself, now would it? :)
So, just to give a little info about myself: I'm Michelle--21 years old, a junior at UMass. I've been interested in crafting since as long as I can remember but never thought I was talented enough to do much of anything. I suppose that's more lack of faith in me than anything else. I have that problem a lot! Last August, as I mentioned in my first blog, I found etsy and just had to give it a shot. I've been so grateful for having an outlet to relieve stress, to get out tension. 2008 was a very rough year on me, and my family and I'm just extremely glad to be out of it. And incase the jerk ex-boyfriend happens to read this: I'm still not over what you did! (ha).

But enough of that. I'll not bore you all with the gory details of my bad luck last year. I'll keep personal stuff to a minimum, perhaps, and get back to etsy for now. Today's my first feature artist:

PrettyPixels has been one of my favorite people I've met because of etsy. She seems to me to be the type of artist that goes unnoticed and I haven't figured out why yet. I'm sure I never will. She's extremely talented and by far the most pleasant person to talk to on there. She deserves the promotion and absolutely deserves being noticed. Check her out!

Hi all :)

Second post in a day.... that can't be good! Although, it's after midnight, so I suppose I'm in the clear. I'm "busy" with the family--watching them play Mario Kart Wii right now. Can that game be anymore stressful?! I freak out any time I play it, but it's incredibly addicting, I must admit.
I'm updating with a few of the new items I posted earlier today. Also, I'm going to be selecting my first feature for the blog, so beware!

Slow sales

I was really dreading this time--the slowing down of sales. I've been using etsy as an excuse to not get a part time job, due to the fact that I'm currently a full time student, and let's be honest: etsy is much more fun than any job you can get! But it seems that I'm edging upon that time when I'll have to decide whether or not I value buying groceries enough to get a job. :X Not a fun time.

I stumbled upon etsy in August and became a buyer before I became a seller. My first purchase was a cute little set of penguin stud earrings from a wonderful girl named Emily. She was kind enough to give me a few pointers, tips and such on how to setup my own shop, and that's where it all started. Ever since, I've been trying to figure out new, inventive ways to promote my shop and I figured this would be the next route I'd take.
In my first 4 and a half months on etsy, I've sold 93 items! This may seem like only a few, but each and every sale I was beyond happy about. Slowly, I've gained views, hearts, and of course sales, and feel right at home. I'd like to use this blog to feature any tips and opinions I have to share with newer artists out there. We all start somewhere! Also, once a week I'm going to be featuring an individual shop. If time permits, I'll gladly feature more than one. I'm excited about this new little adventure and can't wait to see it really getting started.
